All employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to act with integrity and in accordance with our values. Where we identify a risk or an actual breach, we will take immediate and decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts and reporting to relevant authorities.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man With a Van Bromley provides transport and removal services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chain primarily includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and materials providers, and occasional use of labour agencies. While our operations are relatively local and small to medium in scale, we acknowledge that modern slavery risks can exist in any supply chain, regardless of size or geography.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We are strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery. All new suppliers are assessed against ethical standards, including their own modern slavery policies, recruitment practices, and working conditions. We seek assurance that suppliers comply with applicable labour laws and pay workers fairly and lawfully.

Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we may conduct supplier audits or request evidence of compliance. This may include reviewing policies, training records, and workforce arrangements. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards, we reserve the right to end the business relationship.

Employee Awareness and Responsibilities

All staff, including drivers, office staff and managers, share responsibility for helping to identify and prevent modern slavery risks. We aim to raise awareness of the signs of exploitation, such as control over identification documents, restriction of movement, or unusual work or living conditions, particularly in relation to agency staff or subcontracted labour.

Managers are responsible for ensuring that recruitment is carried out fairly, that right-to-work checks are properly conducted, and that no worker is charged recruitment fees or subjected to coercive practices.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man With a Van Bromley encourages anyone with concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices to report them at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be raised internally with a line manager or a senior member of staff. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously.

We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any form of retaliation, victimisation or disadvantage for reporting, in good faith, a suspicion of modern slavery, whether relating to our own operations or those of a supplier. All reports will be investigated promptly and, where appropriate, steps will be taken to address and remedy any issues identified.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process and requires continuous evaluation and improvement. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if there are significant changes to our business, legislation or identified risks.

As part of this annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our policies, supplier checks, training and reporting mechanisms. We will use the outcomes of this review to strengthen our approach, enhance staff awareness and improve our oversight of suppliers and contractors.
